Special dedication to Mélanie who needs good vibes these days. I hope that Cuban Pete will make you smile and put you on top form!
They call me Cuban Pete,
I'm the king of the Rumba beat,
When I play the Maracas I go
Chick chicky boom
Chick chicky boom
Yes, sir, I'm Cuban Pete
I'm the craze, of my native street
When I start to dance, everything goes
Chick chicky boom
Chick chicky boom
The senorita's they sing,
And then they swing with their lumbaro.
It's very nice!
So full of spice
And when they dance and they bring a happy ring,
They're a care-o, singing a song....
All the day long!
So if you like the beat,
Take a lesson from Cuban Pete,
And I'll teach you to
Chick chicky boom
Chick chicky boom
Chick chicky boom!
Si Senorita, I know that you would like to chicky boom chick.
It's very nice!
So full of spice!
I place my hand on your hip and if you will just give me your hand,
Then we shall try,
Just you and I...AYE-AYE-AYE!
So if you like the beat,
Take a lesson from Cuban Pete,
And I'll teach you to
Chick chicky boom
Chick chicky boom
Chick chicky boom!
While the Spanish version kept the original version, the French version dubbed the song too. Bravo to the adaptor and to the dubbing actor, Emmanuel Curtil, Jim Carey's "official" voice. His singing talent is quite handy - yet, some of the lips movements are somewhat out of synch at the very beginnning.
Enjoy!
S'il y a bien un comique qui a bercé ma grande enfance, c'est bien Elie Kakou. Que d'éclats de rire devant la télé !
I grew up with one French comedian and that's Elie Kakou. He's such a hoot!
As I was researching information for my presentation on Wednesday about the dialectal representation in literature and the
media, I came across this episode of Speedy Gonzales. I can't help sharing it with you. In order to laugh, you have to ignore the stereotypes...
It may be a just a cartoon, but, from very early, they put reprehensible stuff in our minds...
Enjoy!
Oui, oui, vous avez bien entendu:
Yep, you heard it right:
La cucaracha, la cucaracha,
Ya no puede caminar;
Porque no tiene, porque le falta
Marijuana que fumar.
These desperate housewives make me laugh my head off!
For those who don't understand Spanish, here is a summary:
Bree asks her future husband why he is washing the glasses because she already did. Because she is fanatical about cleanliness, the explanation he gave her (I mix this and that for hard to clean
stains...), she feels horny, all of a sudden.
"Excuse me, did you lose something?
No, I thought of you.
I don't do that!
Why not?
I'm a Republican!
And I'm a libertarian. We want to reduce the role of the State and maximize individual's rights."
She is so upset by what she felt that she goes to see a doctor and describes what she felt ("something like a rupture, hot and cold waves..."). The doctor asks her what she was doing when that
happened and when she guessed that Bree was having sex, she told her she had an orgasm. Bree disagrees and gives another definition - quicker and simpler - of an orgasm ("feeling good
sensation..."). This one was (much) better!
Hier, je parlais de races et d'ethnies, voici un sketch d'une britannique parodiant les langues et accents français, espagnol, suedois, italien, indien,
japonais et africain...
Et, pour finir, un clip vidéo venu tout droit du Pérou.
Enjoy!
